My passion for knitting began at the age of 16.  As I immigrated from Brazil to Canada I began learning new languages. To me, the most fascinating one was the language of knitting. Soon i gained fluency and began offering lessons and translating knitting designs to the public as well as magazines such as Anny Blatt Fashion. At the time, the world of wool colors and textures was undergoing a revolution, and so did my desire to create styles that went beyond the limits of traditional designs.

Over the subsequent years I worked at knitting boutiques in Montreal and then in Beverly Hills, crafting traditional patterns and developing the confidence to explore beyond. As I thrived in the industry and gained recognition, I eventually opened a boutique in Beverly Hills with my own label which became known as AIDA LEY.

During the 20 year that followed, I continued teaching and designing to the public and the movie industry. I made custom creations for celebrities, which included Elizabeth Taylor, Barbra Streisand, Farrah Fawcett, Mariah Carey, Sharon Stone, and Denzel Washington, among others. Designing became a dream which transformed itself into a reality one stitch at a time.

Today my designs draw inspiration from bold color combinations often exhibited in nature. I love mixing a variety of yarns and designing intricate and mesmerizing pieces. Comfort and versatility define my creations, tailored uniquely to suit women as they grow in confidence and beauty. As a knitwear designer I take immense pride and joy in this stage of my career and eagerly anticipate continuing to provide high quality knits that are only surpassed by my imagination.

My creations are carefully crafted, assembled and finished in Los Angeles, California by select and highly skilled knitters whom I trust and love. I have worked with them exclusively for decades.  Each piece is made to order and carefully inspected by myself upon completion and before shipping. Most of my creations are made one size only, as I have adapted to develop styles that fit the modern woman. Each piece is unique and may have shades of colors that vary from one order to the other. I pride myself in creating wearable art which I am confident you will cherish and love.
